Pizza Pan Holiday Door Hanger

Here is a new craft to check out! This time, I use a Dollar Tree pizza pan, recycle a gift bag, and add a little garland for flair!

Christmas season is here and undoubtedly, we will all end up with a few gift bags. Some will throw them out, some will save them and reuse them next year, and some, may recycle them into a cute door or wall hanger for a cheap and easy craft! Many gift bags have beautiful designs and this is a great way to keep enjoying them! This craft is not limited to Christmas, you could do this for other holidays as well!

This is what you'll need:

Hot Glue Gun and Hot Glue Sticks

Dollar Tree Round Pizza Pan

Scissors

Garland that coordinates with your design

Gift Bag

Dollar Tree Nautical Rope

Paint that coordinates with your design (optional)

Paint Brush (only if you are using paint)

Step 1

I did not like the look of the bare silver pizza pan, so I used some white paint and painted the pizza pan. You can either paint the pan or not, it just depends upon the design/look you are going for with this project.

Step 2

Cut out the design from the gift bag. I cut the entire side of the bag off, and then cut around the design in a circle. Mine was more of an oval for this one. You'll need to cut the design tall and wide enough that you will not leave a gap between the garland and design later on.

Step 3

Center your design on the pizza pan, then use thin strips of hot glue and glue the design down.

Step 4

Attach the garland by using hot glue along the inside edges of the pan. I went slowly in two to three inch sections at a time. As I used a dollar tree garland that was not very full, I went around the pan twice with the garland to achieve a more full look.

Step 5

Decide how large of a hanger loop you want. This determines how much of a space you will have between the rope and the pan once you have hung this on a door or wall. the section of rope that I cut and used in this project was about 5 inches. Once you have cut your rope center it to the top of your design, flip the pan over, and glue the rope down using your hot glue gun. I also added a few scrap pieces of ribbon to give a little extra hold. You can also add a bow to the rope for a little extra fun, but I am not big into bows, so I did not do that.

Step 6

Allow the glue about 2 hours to set up before hanging. You're all done! This is another quick and easy craft that makes a great decor piece - and the possibilities are endless!
